Role Summary

Mastercraft Ventures is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious VC Analyst Intern to support our seed-stage venture investing activities. This role is ideal for an undergraduate or MBA student interested in venture capital, startups, and innovation ecosystems. You will work directly with the Managing Director to support all aspects of the investment firm.

Areas of Focus

1. Data Projects

• Conduct research and analysis on startup markets, industries, and investment trends

• Build and maintain internal datasets and dashboards

• Assist with portfolio analytics and performance tracking

2. Investment Support

• Help manage inbound deal flow and maintain CRM systems

• Screen prospective startup opportunities

• Support due diligence and preparing investment recommendations

3. Fund Operations

• Process mapping and improvements

• Marketing and event coordination

Expectations

• 30–40 hours per week (flexible scheduling around academic commitments)

• “Swiss-Army Knife” mentality and flexibility

• Ability to work independently and communicate proactively

• Genuine interest in venture capital, startups, and early-stage innovation

Compensation

• Competitive wage based on academic year and experience

Location

• In-person in Mastercraft Ventures’ Beloit HQ

• 2-3 weeks in the Badger Fund of Funds Madison HQ (accommodations provided)
